True Stories - Spine Condition

. Ram Babu is a pastor from India. On Wednesday afternoon he spoke about having a gift of healing other people. At the end he said, "Who wants to be imparted with the gift of healing?".  Bouncing inside I went forward to the front where it struck me how stupid I must be, wanting to offer healing to others while suffering myself. Ram Babu prayed for us to receive the gift of healing then he asked, "Who wants to be healed?".  I raised my hand as high as I could (not very high) and people gathered round. Two Indian ladies appeared and one of them looked at my name badge and said, "Alan, God has healed you from a spirit of spondylosis."  My mind reeled. How did she know the name of my disease? I certainly hadn't mentioned it.  "Take your collar off." she said.  "I can't. The pain is too bad."  "God has healed you. Take it off."  I took it off. Then Ram Babu said, "Do something you couldn't do before."  "Look up." said the Indian lady. I leaned my body back to look up.  "No, look up properly."  I tried but the pain was excruciating.  "Look up. Believe me, God has healed you."  I gritted my teeth and looked up more. Suddenly the pain vanished. I tried looking left and right. The same thing happened - excruciating pain, then nothing. That evening I skipped back to the campsite. I was irrepressible - looking all around and pointing at things. (Aeroplanes were a particular favourite). The drive home from Brighton was a doddle.

Over the next few months I came right off the painkillers. ("These will help the pain but you'll be taking them for the rest of your life," the doctor had said). I also started doing things that I had never been able to do - like picking up my children.
I still don't understand what happened in 1996 but I do know that my life hasn't been the same since July 9, 2003 when God touched my neck and healed my spondylosis.
