Prophetic word brought 3rd May 2009 by Jo Watson

For King’s Church

During the worship, I saw lots of seedlings in seedling trays, being planted up by the gardener and taken into a greenhouse.  At the same time, I saw some of the mature plants being taken out of the greenhouse to make room for the seedlings.  The mature plants were ones that had grown too big for their pots and ones whose leaves were bending to stay within the roof of the greenhouse.

As I prayed, I asked God what it meant.  I felt him say that he is the gardener.  He is planting seeds in people’s lives in Keswick.  Many of these seeds are developing and becoming seedlings.  God wants to bring these people into King’s Church.  He wants King’s Church to be increasingly like a greenhouse.  Greenhouses are safe, warm, growing environments.  They are places where plants grow and mature, particularly when they are vulnerable and weak.  They are places where seedlings develop strong enough root systems to be able to cope outside the greenhouse.

I felt that God wants to affirm those who are evangelists in the Church.  (This links with the sermon today, which challenged the Church not to hide their light under a bushel.)  I felt that God wants to bring increasing numbers of brand new Christians into the Church.
